Maltese puppies are so cute that an 8-week old little snowball is very hard to resist. Their bodies are very compact, fine-boned but sturdy and slightly longer than it is tall. The black eyes are large and steal your heart upon their first greeting. These little darlings are spirited, lively, and playful trusting, and devoted to their master. They are highly intelligent as well as loving and are classic companion dogs.

The Maltese are the classic lap dog. The breed is easily recognized by its straight and long white coat, making it appear like it just came from the most exquisite doggie hair salon available.

Even though the Maltese are very small dogs, they tend to be brave and without fear. They are one of the most gentle mannered of all little dogs, but are also full of energy, making them great family dogs. Maltese should be brushed daily, and groomed often to prevent mats from forming in their long, white coat.
